Joel first began his lifelong journey into yoga and meditation over 10 years ago at a small Kriya Yoga Ashram in the mountains of Quebec. After years living in Ashrams and Retreat Centers, traveling with Yogis and Saints from India and abroad, and an intense personal practice of yoga, meditation and pranayama, he emerged one year ago in Cambodia to teach and revive the spirit of Yoga in Ancient Angkor. Deeply dedicated to serving the awakening of consciousness, Joel believes that yoga and meditation should be accessible to all people from all walks of life.
Joel has also done intensive training as an improvisational dancer (Butoh, Contact Improvisation and 5 Rhythms), healer (Reiki, Intuitive Massage), chef (Vegan and Raw Food), interpreter/translator (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese), musician (classical, experimental jazz, ecstatic kirtan, Khmer traditional music) and poet and strongly believes in the importance of active participation in our world through creativity, spirituality and community. One of his current projects includes establishing the Hariharalaya Retreat Centre – a centre for healing, transformation and awareness – a place to come back to our True Self.
